1. Who we are

Affordable Movers is a moving company based at 18 Ash Road, Wiri, Auckland 2104, New Zealand. We are the agency responsible for the personal information described in this policy under the Privacy Act 2020.

2. Information we collect

When you request a quote or book a move we collect your name, email address, pickup and delivery addresses, preferred dates, and a description of the items to be moved.

If you send photos or video during a survey, we collect those images. If you apply for a job, we collect the contents of your application and any references you provide.

Our website records standard technical information such as pages visited and approximate region. We do not use advertising trackers or sell traffic data.

3. Why we collect it

To prepare accurate fixed-price quotes, allocate the right crew and vehicle, arrange access, deliver your goods and invoice you.

We also use contact details to send a single post-move feedback request. You can opt out of that in one click, and we will not email you again unless you contact us.

4. Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary: interisland ferry operators need vehicle and booking details, and our accounting software stores invoices.

We never sell personal information, and we do not share your details with marketing companies or lead brokers.

5. Storage and security

Personal information is stored on access-controlled systems hosted in New Zealand and Australia. Job files are retained for seven years to meet tax obligations, then destroyed.

Survey photos and video are deleted 90 days after the job is completed.

6. Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep. Email hello@affordablemovers.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act 2020.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

7. Cookies

This website uses only functional cookies required to keep the site working. We do not run third-party advertising or profiling cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the effective date below. Material changes affecting existing customers are notified by email.
